Freezer Game: How to Keep Your Bagels Fresh

Alright, so you just got your beautiful box of New Yorker Bagels delivered and you're staring at two dozen perfect pieces of NYC heaven. The question is: how do you make the bagel magic last? Because eating 24 bagels in one day is ambitious (we respect it, but still).

freeze your bagels

Here's the play: slice your bagels BEFORE you freeze them. This is crucial, friends. A frozen whole bagel means you gotta wait for it to thaw before you can slice it, and that's just unnecessary struggle. Pre-slice, separate the halves slightly, and toss them in a freezer bag (or use the sleeves that come with our bagels). Squeeze the air out 'n seal. Done.

When you're ready to eat, go straight from the freezer to the toaster. No thawing needed. The toaster brings back that crispy outside and chewy inside like the bagel just walked out of our bakery five minutes ago. One of our customers said it best — she orders 3 dozen at a time, takes out 2 at a time, and they last for days after thawing with zero issues.

If you don't have a toaster (no judgment... okay, a little judgment), you can wrap the frozen bagel in foil and throw it in the oven at 400°F for 4 minutes. Microwave? Nah, we're not gonna recommend that. Microwaves turn bagels into rubber, and these bagels deserve better than that.

Bottom line: order big, freeze smart, and you'll have legit NYC bagels on deck for weeks. Our 3-dozen box is the move for freezer stockers — you get the best value and enough variety to keep things interesting all month long.
